Frank Zappa Day – September 19, 2010

An entire weekend in Baltimore is being dedicated to Frank Zappa (born in Baltimore) in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of his anti-censorship speech and U.S. Senate hearing on Capitol Hill in 1985. There will be a statue dedication and a free concert by Zappa’s son Dweezil and the Zappa Plays Zappa band. Full info can be found here.

Grateful Dead – Two New Releases

The releases never seem to stop flowing over in Dead land. First, two complete shows played at the Hampton Coliseum October 8 & 9, 1989 when the band played under their original name “The Warlocks.” The other release is Vol.3, No.4 of the Road Trips series and features selections from Penn State and Cornell University in May of 1980. For more info check out Formally The Warlocks 1989 and Road Trips 1980.
