CTI Records – The Cool Revolution Box Set and 40th Anniversary Reissues
UPDATE: Review now available HERE!
CTI Records (Creed Taylor Incorporated) is set to release a host of 40th Anniversary jazz albums and a 4 disc sampler box set titled The Cool Revolution. The box will contain 39 tracks, over 5 hours of music, all remastered for the first time from the original two track analog tapes! It features an amazing array of selections from jazz luminaries such as George Benson, Stanley Turrentine, Freddie Hubbard, Ron Carter, and more, all glazed over in warm production, tasteful string arrangements, and in most cases a touch of funk.
In addition to reissues of the individual jazz albums found on the box set, CTI will also be releasing the long lost live album California Concert: The Hollywood Palladium recorded on July 18, 1971. Featuring a stunning array of CTI musicians, the album will contain 10 tracks in their original concert running order spread across 2 discs. The jams were long, the music hot, and the sound was stellar.
